The National Living Wage and Minimum wage will change on 1 April when new rules announced in 2017 come into effect.

1 April will also see an increase to the Personal Allowance from £11,500 to £11,850.

New minimum wage rates for 2018

Aged 21 – 24 will raise from £7.50 per hour to £7.83 per hour

Age 18 – 20 will raise from £5.60 per hour to £5.90 per hour

Aged below 18 will increase from £4.05 per hour to £4.20 per hour

The apprentice rate currently £3.50 per hour will increase to £3.70 per hour.

Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they are either aged 19 or under, or aged 19 or over and are in their first year of apprenticeship.
