Magma made its first appearance in the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday 22 May 2013, as it was reported that Guy Hands’ renewable energy business Wharrels Hill had replaced Grant Thornton as its auditor with Magma.

A spokesman for Wharrels Hill said it had dropped Grant Thornton and chosen a firm that offers better value for money.

Andrew Wilson, Partner at Magma Chartered Accountants said “This is further evidence that owner-managed businesses are recognising us as a real alternative to top-tier firms. There is no need to pay large firm prices to ensure great service and advice. We are grateful for the additional exposure that Wharrels Hill has provided, but pleasingly it is just one example amongst many”.
