Last night saw the 2018 renewal of the HSBC organised Professionals’ Table Tennis tournament. First and foremost, it was a great evening, with generous support pledged for the chosen LOROS Charity.
The tournament comprised a mix of accountants, bankers and lawyers – with Magma once again coming out on top and retaining their title. With Magma’s staff numbers of circa 100, compared to the “giants” of KPMG, Grant Thornton, Mazars, McIntyre Hudson who were all defeated along the way, it could be seen as something akin to Iceland winning the FIFA World Cup. Although, granted, if judged on Leicester presence alone, perhaps something less of a shock – perhaps more like a World Cup victory for Brazil!
